“The people you start with, you ain’t gone finish with…”
One thing I like about Nino Brown is that he keeps it all the way real and says a lot of what most people don’t care enough to tell you if your not in their immediate circle. In this particular video, Nino speaks on learning to let go of people from your past. More specifically, how most people we encounter just pass through our lives to help us get trough hard time, which I totally agree with.
Over the past few years since I’ve been back up on my grind, I’ve lost so many people I thought were friends, to the point that I now have a hard time trusting anybody. It just seems that when you’re on your way to the top, certain people can see that and try to latch on to you, hoping that they’ll get to enjoy a little taste of that success without putting in the work it takes to get there.
I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’ve been catching a lot of sneak side eyes from people pretending to be friends. I don’t speak on it, but just know I saw it. Which brings me to another point Nino Brown touched on in the video: God might be opening a door to greatness through some people, but learn how to let them go when they prove to be toxic.
Now this is something I’m having a hard time working on. I’m an Aries and you know how we can be loyal to a fault. So, to let go of people that have known me for so long, but prove to be toxic has been a challenge. Even when it shouldn’t be. I’m slowly but surely getting better at it though. So, if I don’t hit you up as much, you know why.
