TDE’s golden child Ab-Soul aka the Black Lip Pastor released his 3rd studio album These Days last Tuesday after leaving fans feening since his last project, Control System. The album features appearances from Rick Ross, Diddy, Joey Badass, Jhene Aiko, and Kendrick Lamar (of course), some of which are not mentioned. Although still lyrical, it’s not as intellectually stimulating as Control System or Longterm Mentality. But sometimes we need that.
My fav from the album, Just Have Fun, produced by Like & Blended Babies is turnt yet drops knowledge at the same time. After These Days dropped, people act as if Ab-Soul can’t be enlightened and party and bullish*t at the same time. Just because you’re spiritual doesn’t mean you still can’t have your ignant days. It’s funny how stereotypes come into play here. Either you’re smart, spiritual and no fun to be around or the party animal with no brains or morals. And if you challenge the status quo by being you, people begin to call you weird. But weird is good. Weird people change the world remember….
